YouthQuake 2011!
The United Church Youth Leaders National Executive hosted the 1st Annual Youthquake at the John Gray Memorial Church Hall in West Bay on 12th February 2011. The young people delighted the audience - and at times made us cry with some poignant pieces. Youthquake provided an opportunity for the young people in our churches to praise and worship God through music, dance, drama, puppetry, culinary arts, arts and craft, and literacy arts. It replaces the former annual event known by more prosaic names like Youth Summit! And like these earlier events it allowed the children and teenagers to make good use of a wide range of different talents, to complement other events like their Sports Day competitions, and it will no doubt in time be expanded to include other activities from the events of earlier years. The theme this year was “Salt and Light” (Matthew 5:13-16) which had to be represented in some way in each piece. See full story here.Click here to see some pictures from the afternoon!
