MINISTRY EMPHASIS MONTH...Introducing Yashi Williams

Friday Jun 21, 2024

"General Christian understanding is that a minister,
being essentially a servant, is anyone who engages in
action that seeks to fulfil the mission of Jesus Christ
in the world. Within the UCJCI, a Commissioned or
Ordained Minister is one for whom this engagement is
her or his primary vocation.

Commissioned Ministers work primarily in or through
church affiliated institutions in largely administrative
capacities."

CHILD MONTH FEATURE - Jazmine Samuels

Thursday May 30, 2024

My fellow children, can I ask you this question –
What do you understand by this topic: Reignited
by the Spirit “We ready fi di road”?

Let me explain the meaning of two words:
1. Reignited means: to catch fire or cause to catch
fire again
2. Spirit: The word ‘spirit’ has a lot of meanings,
but I am using this meaning – A special attitude or
frame of mind. Now that we understand the meaning
of these two words, we can now move on.

Let us catch fire for God with some attitude today
in this place. Every fire, when left alone, will eventually
diminish and fades to ashes. For a fire to remain alive
and blazing, it demands new fuel to be added to it, as
well as someone attending to it, for example, stirring
it and fanning it to flame. So it is with our life in Christ,
especially as children serving Christ. While you may have
been fervently devoted to the Lord in the past, unless
you have been tending to the flame and nurturing your
spiritual walk, it will diminish into ashes.

KIDS' QUAKE MESSAGE AT CONVOCATION - Jayana Hill

Thursday May 23, 2024

Children, as we look at the theme ‘Children
Re-ignited by the Spirit….Wi Reddi fi di Road‘, it
suggests that there is something within us
which has gone cold but has found new life
and therefore causes a desire for us to want to
do something new or different.

For most of us, the Word of God would have
been planted within us whether by our parents,
Sunday School teachers or from an experience
on radio, television, a community service, or
even Tik Tok.

YOUTH CONVENTION

Thursday May 16, 2024

The atmosphere was electric. Over five hundred
youth piled into Block C at the Montego Bay
Convention Centre for the UCJCI Youth
Convention.

Voices were raised in worship, bodies moved to
the infectious rhythms of the music and the
young people rejoiced in their gathering...at last.

In the words of a young daughter of the United
Church, the Youth Convention and Convocation
were good experiences. Asked why she felt that
way she said simply, ‘ The praise, the Word and
the fellowship’’

CONVOCATION NEWS

Friday May 10, 2024

REIGNITE TO REPLENISH

“The church receives her life and power from her Lord.
Hence she must constantly be renewed in him. This is
why an occasional change, revival, or reform will not
suffice. The church must be constantly renewed and
reformed by the Word and the Spirit of Jesus Christ, her
head”.

These are among powerful words of challenge delivered
by the preacher, Rev. Glenroy Clarke, Minister of Lucea
United Church in Hanover.
