20 Years of Ordained Ministry - the Rev. Dr. Dave Hazle

The George Town Charge surprised their pastor the Rev. Dr. Dave Hazle during the morning service at Elmslie United Church on Sunday 7th October by expressing appreciation to him for 5 years of leading and Pastoring the Charge and in recognition of 20 years of ministry since his ordination in 1992. Rev. Dave marvelled (and might even have been worried!!) at how well the plans had been kept from him as he said he did not have an inkling anything was afoot! He was humbled and delighted with their expressions of love and care in marking the anniversaries in that way.  Thanks were also expressed to his wife, Mrs. Maureen Hazle, for her support of Rev. Dave and she was presented with flowers. Mr. Bryan Bothwell, the Regional Deputy General Secretary for Cayman brought greetings from the wider Church and expressed appreciation to both the Charge for their caring thoughtfulness and to Rev. Dr. Hazle, for the generous and passionate way he served Christ in the Council, Synod and ecumenically as well as in his congregations. He also brought personal greetings from the Rev. Norbert Stephens who would have liked to have been present but when the plans were made he had already been committed to a long arranged engagement in Jamaica.
