Ash Wednesday Prayer Gathering 2017
ASH WEDNESDAY GATHERING 2017
Thanks to everyone who attended our Council’s Ash Wednesday Gathering on March 1, 2017 at the Savannah United Church. The Gathering was a time for us to come together to praise and thank God for the many blessings we have received, to confess our sins and concerns to God and burn them as an act of removing the burdens from our lives. Breakout groups allowed us to confess our salvation, sins (systemic or individual), our sufferings/sicknesses/ and challenges, and there was even a group specifically for Men in prayer. The Gathering came to a close with the receiving of a cross of ashes, Holy Communion, and Lenten memory stones so all may remember the fellowship and confessions they made on Ash Wednesday.
