Programme Secretary/ Communications Officer

THE UNITED CHURCH IN JAMAICA AND THE CAYMAN ISLANDS CAYMAN ISLANDS REGIONAL MISSION COUNCIL  Invites applications for the following post:
PROGRAMME SECRETARY AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (UCJCI) programmes within the Cayman Islands Regional Mission Council. These include the Leadership Development, Camp Ministry, Children, Youth, Young Adults, and Adult Ministry programmes.  Communicating these programmes within the Council and in the wider community and on the various social media platforms and the planning of events related to their implementation are within the remit of the post holder.  The successful individual will report directly to the Regional Deputy General Secretary.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Committed Christian and a member of the UCJCI
• Impeccable moral standards befitting one who works closely with children and young people
•  Possess a working knowledge of the structure, polity, ethos, and programmes of the UCJCI
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Youth Ministry, Administration, Social Sciences, Education, Communications or related Disciplines 
• Must demonstrate the ability to develop, manage and implement the strategic directions for the programmes
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Good computer skills with competencies in the Microsoft suite and must be a competent and responsible social media user
• At least three to five years experience in a similar context/position
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organize and coordinate Regional Leadership Training and Capacity Building exercises and provide support for other programmes.
  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for the Church School Mission Action Team, the Youth Leadership National Executive (YLNE) and be proactive in the development and sustainability of the ministry to Young Adults in the Regional Mission Council.  
• Produce communications materials for the dissemination of the Council’s activities and ongoing engagements with the Congregations in Council
• Develop and manage the Social Media Editorial Calendar 

Benefits: Pension, Health Coverage and Vacation days Salary: KYD 28,000 -30,000 per annum
