CIRMC Weekly Update March 23, 2017

In this weekly update our Council congratulations the Elmslie Memorial United Church who was victorious in earning the title of champions at Sports Day 2017. The Cayman Islands Girls’ Brigade commenced its “Girls’ Brigade Week” at the John Gray Memorial United Church for a joint service and celebration of 70 years in the Cayman Islands. Cayman Prep and High School has begun its 3rd Annual "Prayer Spaces".

In this weekly update, our Council hosted a workshop on Worship at the Savannah United Church. The workshop covered all aspects of Worship from music and the arts, to the Word (the Bible) being used throughout worship, and the first impression of the Church to visitors.

In this weekly update our Council reflects on Ash Wednesday. The Ash Wednesday Gathering was a time for us to come together to praise and thank God for the many blessings we have received, to confess our sins and concerns to God and burn them as an act of removing the burdens from our lives. Our Youth also gathered for a time of reflection this Ash Wednesday for the first Annual ‘Prayer & Pizza’.

In this weekly update, our Council warmly congratulates Ms. Lorna Reid (of the Elmslie Memorial Congregation) for receiving the Chairman’s Award from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) at their 23rd National Arts & Culture Awards held on February 16, 2017. The Chairman’s Award is given to an individual for their outstanding long-term support of CNCF’s work.

In this weekly update the Cayman Islands Regional Mission Council celebrates Women's Fellowship Week! During the Fellowship Breakfast a moment of silence was shared for the passing of Rev. Dr. Adlyn White and the many contributions she made to the Women’s Fellowship within the United Church.
